Describe the day that the sub observes trick or treat day as “the last Saturday of October”

Halloween on 31st unless it’s not on a Saturday, then weekend before.

I think we should keep the tradition and it shouldn’t be canceled.

Trick or Treating ONLY if everyone (including young children, teens and older) wear masks. Otherwise, we vote that no trick or treating be held this year.

Many cities have already canceled Halloween. Stating that door-to-door or car-to-car are “not recommended” as “it can be very difficult to maintain proper social distancing” and “because sharing food is risky” and potentially creates a super spreader event. Maybe for this year the kids could do a socially distanced parade in costumes. Then parents could just provide their own treats to their own children.

Why change what works?

Love sticking with the tradition the Saturday before. Typically we do not have any kids when Trick or Treating is on the 31st.

We prefer the Saturday prior, but are really fine either way. Perhaps, doing it the day of might help to deter outsiders from attending, this less traffic. Next year, we vote for the Saturday prior most definitely. We have considering safe ways to distribute candy and are having fun with several ideas. A shuffle board style dispensery, or candy toss on the grass. Just to keep it fun. Out of consideration, those who are at-risk may want to sit this year out but I think their will still be enough houses participating to make it feel "normal" for the kids. Thank-you for the opportunity for input.

Please don’t cancel. Kids love this and it’s a relatively low risk event. Candy is wrapped. Kids are at the door for less than a minute. This is coming from a Nurse. I also work for the OCHD. I also think most know our neighborhood does trick or treating the Saturday before. I’m afraid there might be a limited turnout if we switch. Thank you!

I don’t understand why this is up for discussion. This is a tradition the neighborhood has had for years. We love it the Saturday before.

cancel it. Not worth the risk.

As much as we enjoy the neighborhood Halloween event, it should be cancelled for health reasons. Just one infection from the event would cast a dark cloud.
